Centro history

Our society was founded in 1971 under the name Spanish Circle (or Círculo Español). In 1985, with the support and hard work of our founders, the organization was able to purchase the building, in which we currently reside, in Astoria, NY and fondly call home. It acts as our meeting place and cultural center.

in april 2011 the society became a non-profit cultural organization and updated its name to centro espaÑol de queens.

We are very grateful to our members, who continue to support us economically and with the gift of time, so that we can continually meet our objectives. Our doors are always open to new members who wish to join the organization, collaborate on cultural projects and support our overall mission.

our members enjoy the following activities:

  • Music classes (Bagpipe, Drums, Tambourine)

  • Dance classes (Gallego Folk Dance, Flamenco)
