On March 18 we hosted one of our most attended dinner dance events to celebrate the feast of St. Joseph.  This is one of our most important events of the year as it is one of the most celebrated saint days, in addition to being Father’s Day in Spain.

During the event, we had the pleasure of hearing a bagpipe group from the Asturias region of Spain called Gaitas Llacín.  This group was visiting New York City to participate in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.  They thanked Centro Español de Queens for its support as well as Bernardo Riveiro with a commemorative figurine of a bagpipe player.

Our own bagpipe band, Aires de Ceo, performed that evening and accompanied the children’s gallego dance group.  In addition, the adult dance group got together once again to perform a special dance in homeage to Bernardo Riveiro for all his years of service to the organization.

It was a wonderful evening with amazing performances which we hope all our guests fully enjoyed.
